GNAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week Report #3

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Marcus Lewis, Lasell (Jr., G)

Junior Marcus Lewis went off in the only game for the Lasers this past week. On Monday (Nov. 20), Lewis scored a career-high 36 points against Wentworth on 68.4 percent (13-for-19) from the floor, going 6-for-9 (66.7 percent) from downtown. The junior guard also led Lasell in both rebounds (eight) and assists (five) to help pace the Lasers offensively.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Remijo Wani, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (Fr., F)

First year Remijo Wani played well off the bench for the Monks this past week. Wani averaged 13.0 points per game on 57.7 percent shooting (15-for-26) from the floor and 40.0 percent (4-for-10) from behind the arc. Wani’s best performance came against Nebraska Wesleyan in the Snyder Classic Tournament as the first year went for 26 points on 10-for-13 shooting and collected three rebounds and assists apiece. His efforts named him to the All-Tournament team.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Tahquell Cadle, Elms – Averaged 21 points per game for the Blazers in three games this week on 59.5 percent shooting (25-for-42) from the floor and added 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.7 steals. The graduate student put up 26 points, four rebounds, and two steals on Saturday (Nov. 25) against Union (N.Y.). Yesterday (Nov. 26), Cadle scored 30 points on 13-for-16 shooting while grabbing eight boards, four assists, and five steals against Hartwick.

Jaylyn Clardy, Mitchell – Put up a game-high 28 points for the Mariners in a setback against Coast Guard on Tuesday (Nov. 21) on 57.1 percent (12-for-21) from the floor. The junior also added eight rebounds and three assists.

Jamir Harvey, Regis – Scored 24 points for the Pride off the bench in 26 minutes of action, shooting 12-for-20 from the field. The sophomore also added eight rebounds for Regis in their setback against Framingham State.

Odarius Cade, Rivier – Scored 20 points for the Raiders on Tuesday (Nov. 21) in a 79-72 victory at Brooklyn. The junior also collected five rebounds, six assists, and five steals.
