Monks Blow Past Women’s Lacrosse

STANDISH, ME: Rivier women's lacrosse fell to the Monks of Saint Joseph's College in conference action.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 3/29/23

- Score: SJC 17, Rivier 7

- Records: SJC (7-2, 5-0 GNAC), Rivier (3-3, 2-3 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Monks took a 13-2 lead into the half after scoring eight unanswered goals in the first quarter. Cassie Hemmerdinger (Pelham, NH) got the Raiders on the board with the first goal of the second quarter. Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) would net the second and last of the half for Riv.

- Hemmerdinger would score her second goal of the game to start the second half, scoring 13-3. The Monks would tack on two more before the start of the fourth quarter. Riv would go on to outscore St. Joe's 4-2 in the fourth quarter. Hinkley got it started with her second goal of the game, followed by a Sarah Lachance (Chelmsford, MA) goal. Hemmerdinger would complete the hat trick making the score 15-6. Lachance would score the last Raider goal with 2:19 left. Shauna Clark, Mackenzie Siebert, and Lydia Dexter all scored three goals each for the Monks. Clark also added four assists.

- Alexis Eldridge got the win (7-2) after playing in 36:32 minutes and making three saves. Lindsey Kruger (New Bedford, MA) got tagged with the loss (3-3) after allowing 17 goals and making nine saves.
