Men's Soccer Drop Home Match Against Falcons

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College men's soccer team battles hard but drops home match to the Albertus Magnus Falcons in a 4-0 loss.

How it Happened

The Blazers were outshot in the first half 14-3, Noah Jaques had two attempts at hitting the back of the net but were saved by Falcons keeper David Lucero. Falcons also led the half with seven more corner kicks over the Blazers, having 8-1. Elms' goalkeeper Collin Liedke had 7 saves only letting in one goal putting the Falcons up 1-0 leading into the half. 

In the 66th minute of play Hunter Miket had an attempt at getting the Blazers on the board, but had too much draw on the ball sending it wide. The Blazers continued to battle for the full 90 minutes, but were unable to lessen the gap and fell 4-0.

Collin Liedke had 7 saves and played for 50:11 minutes splitting time with sophomore Ethan Sgarlata who had 3 saves and played the rest of the contest (39:49 minutes).

Inside the Numbers

  • Noah Jaques led the team in shots having 3 with 2 on-goal
  • Both keepers, Liedke and Sgarlata had a total of 10 saves in tonights contest.
