Women’s Basketball Dominates Lasell

NEWTON, MA: Rivier women's basketball took down Lasell University this evening in GNAC play.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/2/23

- Score: Rivier 82, Lasell 57

- Records: Rivier (11-11, 8-6 GNAC), Lasell (4-16, 3-10 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders quickly jumped out to a lead and never looked back. Riv outscored the hosting team in each quarter. Rivier had a lot of open looks at the basket, which allowed them to shoot 51.6% (32-62) from the field for the game.

- Leading the way for the Raiders was Brianna Wilcox (Londonderry, NH), who finished with a game-high 17 points, eight rebounds, and five steals. Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, NH) finished just behind her with 15 points. Hannah Muchemore (Nashua, NH) ended with 11 points, six boards, and five assists.

- Lasell struggled from behind the arc, going 2-17 (11.8%) for the game. Shirle Major topped the team in points with 14 to go along with five rebounds and two steals. Jasmine DePina was the only other player to reach double digits with ten points.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Rebounds: Lasell 38, Riv 37

-  Assists: Riv 17, Lasell 4

-  Shooting Percentages: Riv 51.6%, 3-PT 30.8%, FT 70%. Lasell 34.3%, 3-PT 11.8%, FT 41.7%
