Blazers Drop GNAC Match to Blue Jays

HARTFORD, CT - Elms College men's soccer team dropped their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) appearance against University of St. Joseph, 9-0 yesterday evening.

THE BASICS
Score: Elms 0, St. Joseph 9

Record: Elms (1-3)(0-1), St. Joseph (2-1)(1-0)

Colin Liedke (Newington, CT) made eleven saves in the game for Elms (1-3) but the Blue Jays peppered Elms with 34 shots in the game, including 19 shots on-goal. The Blazers, meanwhile, finished the game with 14 shots with 5 of them on-goal.

USJ (2-1) Sophomore DeAnte Anderson (Bloomfield, CT) opened the scoring in the twenty fourth minute assisted by teammate Dane Stephans (Jamaica). Anderson found the back of the net just three minutes later leading the Blue Jays 2-0 going into the half. 

The Elms Blazers were not shy of shots in the second, with 4 out 12 on-goal. Despite the resilience the EC men's team showed they were unable to chalk something up.

Benjamin Marchetti (Higganum, CT) the senior forward carried the USJ men's soccer team with a hat trick in the last twenty six minutes of play.
