GNAC Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week Report #7

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Alannah Keliher, Norwich (So.)

Sophomore swimmer Alannah Keliher set top season times at the four-day Harold Anderson Invitational at the University of Rhode Island from Thursday to Sunday (Nov. 21-24). She took to the pool for a pair of relay events, coming in 22nd overall in the 200 medley relay (free) on 2:04.81 and 23rd in the 200 free relay on 1:50.47. Individually, she posted finishes of 45th in the 50 free (25.52), 31st in the 100 back (1:04.75), and 52nd in the 100 free (57.21).

DIVER OF THE WEEK

Reilly Laitala, Norwich (Jr.)

Junior Reilly Laitala took to the boards in both one meter and three meter competition at the Harold Anderson Invitational at the University of Rhode Island this past weekend. First, she posted a 186.05 score to check in at 22nd in the 1 meter diving 6 optional. She then came in 18th overall in the 3 meter diving 6 optional, tallying a 183.25 effort.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Silvia Valeria Avila Estrada, Albertus Magnus (Fr.)

First-year swimmer Silvia Valeria Avila Estrada won the 50-yard breaststroke (33.50), 50 yard freestyle (25.76) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:14.43) against Elms in a team win. Broke school record in 100 and 50 yard breaststroke. Also swam a leg in the team's first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay which also broke a program record with a time of 1:55.94.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Joni McGillis, Elms - Finished first individually in the 200-Yard Freestyle (2:10.9) and the 50-Yard Butterfly (29.56). Was a part of the winning 200-Yard Medley Relay (2:18.46) and second-place 200-Yard Freestyle Relay (2:13.33).

Alissa Schettini, Elms - Finished first invidually in the 1000-Yard Freestyle (12:42.90), 100-Yard Butterfly (1:11.44), and the 500-Yard Freestyle (6:11.40). Was a part of the second-place 200-Yard Freestyle Relay team.
