GNAC Men's Volleyball Athlete of the Week Report #4

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jacob LaBouliere, Wentworth (Sr., OH)

Senior outside hitter Jacob LaBouliere led No. 1 nationally-ranked Wentworth to another perfect week. The Leopards went 4-0, including 3-0 sweeps against No. 16 Misericordia and No. 18 Baldwin Wallace. LaBouliere averaged 5.17 kills per set this week and swung at an impressive .509 rate. He had double-digit kills in every contest, starting with 16 against Emmanuel in a GNAC sweep on Tuesday (Feb. 6). He made zero errors against the Saints. He then finished 15 attacks against Misericordia on Friday (Feb. 9). LaBouliere had his second error-less match against Baldwin Wallace, recording 14 kills on 20 attacks. He concluded the week with 17 kills against Hobart in a 3-0 sweep.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Eddie Djatcha, Regis (Fy., MB)

First-year middle Eddie Djatcha was a ominous presence at the net for Regis this week, averaging over a block per set across three matches. He had three blocks in a 3-0 loss to Endicott to open the week and followed that up with six blocks against Sage in a four-set setback. He closed out the week with two more blocks against Houghton. On the week, he averaged 1.10 blocks per set with two of them being solo blocks.

SETTER OF THE WEEK

Josh Milke, Wentworth (Jr., S)

Wentworth setter Josh Milke ran the Leopards offense to a perfect 4-0 week, averaging 11.75 assists per set. He surpassed the 30-assist mark in all four contests, all of which were 3-0 sweeps. He started the week with back-to-back 35-helper performances, starting with a conference sweep over Emmanuel. He followed that up with another 35 against No. 16 Misericordia. In his second-straight match against a nationally-ranked opponent, Milke produced 31 assists in a sweep of No. 18 Baldwin Wallace before finally closing out the week with 40 assists in a 3-0 sweep of Hobart. In total, Milke produced 141 assists, while also contributing eight blocks, 10 digs, and two aces.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Quincy Moore, Emmanuel (Fy., S)

First-year setter Quincy Moore made his Emmanuel debut this weekend and averaged 8.13 assists per set in a GNAC tri-match split. He opened the day with 26 assists in a 5-2 loss to Rivier before contributing 29 helpers to a 3-0 sweep of Emerson in the late match. He also had three kills, three aces, and a pair of blocks for the week.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Pedro De Jesus, Elms - Recorded 16 digs in a 3-1 loss to Manhattanville giving him a 4.00 digs per set average.

Michael Shelley, Emmanuel - Averaged 3.73 kills per set while hitting .317 from the floor over three matches for Emmanuel last week. Shelley also had 1.36 digs per set and a total of eight blocks.

Joseph Perez, Regis - Averaged 3.44 kills per set this week as Regis went 1-2. Had double-digit kills in two matches with 13 against Endicott and 10 against Sage.

Neil Rea, Rivier - Averaged 8.85 assists per set in a 3-0 week for Rivier. Totaled 115 assists on the week with 76 of them coming in GNAC contests.
