GNAC Field Hockey Athlete of the Week Report #4

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Anna Tedeschi, Simmons (Jr., F)

Junior Anna Tedeschi put on an offensive clinic for Simmons this past Tuesday (Sept. 19). She scored a career single-game high four goals against non-conference Clark in a 4-0 victory. Tedeschi registered her third hat-trick of the season. Currently, she leads the GNAC with 10 goals on the season.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Carly Bernard, Colby-Sawyer (Jr., GK)

Junior goalkeeper Carly Bernard was stellar in the cage once again for Colby-Sawyer. Bernard made 11 saves with a save percentage of .846 in a 2-0 week for the Chargers. She made five stops against New England College on Wednesday (Sept. 20) and denied six opportunities by Thomas on Saturday (Sept. 23).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Ava Pontes, Johnson & Wales (Fr., F)

First-year Ava Pontes scored a pair of goals for Johnson & Wales in a 3-0 week. She opened the scoring in a 2-1 win over the University of New England on Wednesday (Sept. 20) before finding the back of the cage again on Saturday (Sept. 23) in a GNAC win over Rivier.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Taylor Gaudette, Colby-Sawyer - Registered five points from two goals and an assist in a 2-0 week for the Chargers.

Margaret Johnson, Johnson & Wales - Collected eight points for the Wildcats, registering two goals and four assists in a 3-0 week.

Sheridan Blaha, Lasell - Scored three goals and notched an assist to earn seven points in a 2-0 week for the Lasers.

Courtney Tello, Lasell - Converted five saves while only allowing one goal in a 2-0 week for the Lasers.

Frankie Alley, Regis - Netted a hat trick for the Pride in a 5-1 victory over Elms College on Saturday (Sept. 23).
