CHICOPEE, Mass. – Simmons soccer (1-6, 1-2 GNAC) dropped a 1-0 decision to Elms College (3-4-1, 2-3 GNAC) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action, Saturday afternoon.
It was a scoreless bout throughout the entire first half. Sophomore Marita Nothacker registered seven saves in first period to keep the contest at zero. However, the Blazers finally were able to break up the stalemate midway through the second half. In the 76th minute, Morgan Foucault found the back of the net to give the Elms the 1-0 advantage.
Riley Wasiuk helped power the Shark offense registering two shots, including one on net, but Blazers goalkeeper Angela Picheo came up with the save to preserve the shutout.
