GNAC Women's Volleyball Athlete's of the Week Report #10

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hannah Pridgeon, Simmons (So., OH)

Sophomore outside hitter Hannah Pridgeon delivered a standout performance this week, averaging 4.00 kills per set and helping Simmons to a 2-2 record (2-1 in GNAC play). Pridgeon started strong on Tuesday (Oct. 29), achieving her eighth double-double of the season with 23 kills and 10 digs in a 3-2 win over Dean. She continued her momentum on Thursday (Oct. 31), posting 20 kills, four digs, and a block in a tight 3-2 loss to Wheaton. On Saturday (Nov. 2), she contributed eight kills, three aces, and seven digs in a 3-0 setback to Johnson & Wales before closing out the week with 13 kills, nine digs, and a block in a 3-0 sweep of Saint Joseph's (Conn.).

SETTER OF THE WEEK

April Beatty, Simmons (Gr., S)

Grad student setter April Beatty had an impressive week, leading the Sharks to two conference wins and a 2-2 record overall. Beatty began the week with 18 kills and six digs in a 3-2 victory over Dean on Tuesday (Oct. 29). She followed up with her first collegiate career triple-double in a five-set match against Wheaton on Thursday (Oct. 31), recording 11 kills, 16 assists, and 12 digs while hitting .292 with only four errors on 24 attempts. On Saturday (Nov. 2), she added her eighth and ninth double-doubles of the season. In the first match of the day, a 3-0 loss to Johnson & Wales, she posted 11 kills and 10 digs. Later, in a 3-0 sweep over Saint Joseph's (Conn.), she contributed 18 assists and 11 digs.

LIBERO OF THE WEEK

Fernanda Ayala Rodriguez, Saint Joseph (Conn.) (Sr. L)

Senior libero Fernanda Ayala Rodriguez delivered a strong defensive performance for the Blue Jays, tallying 64 digs over three matches and averaging 6.40 digs per set. She kicked off the week on Tuesday (Oct. 29) with her best match, posting two kills, three assists, and 34 digs in a 3-1 loss to Mitchell. On Saturday (Nov. 2) against Johnson & Wales, she added four service aces and 14 digs in a 3-0 defeat. Later that day, Rodriguez recorded three assists and 16 digs as the Blue Jays concluded the week with a 3-0 loss to Simmons.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Riley Greenley, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (Fy., S/DS)

First-year setter and defensive specialist Riley Greenley showcased her skills this week, helping the Monks to a 2-1 record in conference play. The rookie tallied 65 assists across the three matches, averaging 7.22 assists per set. On Wednesday (Oct. 30), Greenley contributed 22 assists, seven digs, and one ace, averaging 7.33 assists per set in a 3-0 sweep of Colby-Sawyer. On Saturday (Nov. 2), she posted 16 assists and two digs in a 3-0 loss to Johnson & Wales, before bouncing back with an impressive 27 assists (9.00 assists per set) in a 3-0 win over Mitchell.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Brooke Patnode, Colby-Sawyer - Tallied 87 assists and 27 digs over three matches as the Chargers went 1-2 on the week. Her standout performance came on Saturday (Nov. 2) against Albertus Magnus, where she notched a double-double with four kills, 37 assists, and 10 digs.

Isabella Marquez, Emmanuel - Recorded 39 kills and 24 digs over three matches, helping the Saints to a perfect 3-0 week. She posted a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs in a 3-1 victory over Curry.

Kason Huynh, Emmanuel - Earned two double-doubles this week, contributing to a perfect 3-0 record for her team. She recorded her first double-double with 22 assists and 24 digs in a 3-1 win over Curry. In a 3-0 sweep against Mitchell, she tallied 30 assists, and later secured her second double-double of the week with 25 assists and 11 digs in a victory over Saint Joseph's College (Maine).

Sydney Katz, Lasell - Katz recorded 52 assists and 10 digs over two matches this past week, leading the Lasers to a 2-0 record in conference play. She tallied 20 assists and six digs in a 3-0 victory against Norwich and then added 32 assists and four digs in a 3-0 win over Dean. Throughout the week, she averaged 8.67 assists per set.

Julia Lent, Mitchell - She recorded 56 digs across three matches for the Mariners this week, contributing to a 1-2 record in conference play. Her standout performance came in a 3-1 victory over Saint Joseph's (Conn.), where she notched 22 digs.

Kamdyn Tenorio, Regis Helped the Pride secure a 2-2 record for the week, contributing a total of 34 kills, seven service aces, and 45 digs across four matches. Notably, she achieved a double-double against Colby-Sawyer, recording 15 kills and 20 digs.
