GNAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Report #2

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Lulani Haslinger, Johnson & Wales (So.)

Sophomore Lulani Haslinger started her outdoor season very strong for thw Wildcats as the Groton, N.Y. native ran in her first 5k of the outdoor season and placed second, which qualified her for DIII New England Championships with her time of 18:20. Haslinger's performance moved her to the top of the GNAC by over a min. 

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Katelyn O'Brien, Johnson & Wales (Jr.)

Junior Katelyn O'Brien was excellent in her first competition of the year as the Holmdel, N.J. native threw 36.11m in the javelin competition to qualify for D3 New England's and take the top mark in the GNAC by over 20ft. This mark at the time of completion was 35th in the country.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Ella Labrie, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr.)

First-Year Ella Labrie impressed at the SNHU Spring Invitational with a first-place finish in the long jump at 5.06 meters. The Gorham, Maine native also placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 10.31 meters. Labrie sits at third in the Long Jump and second in the Triple Jump in the GNAC Rankings (highest-ranked rookie/first year).


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Lila Brillhart, Colby-Sawyer - Debuted in the 100m hurdles for the first time this season breaking the program school record, on her way to 4th overall with a time of 15.88, beating athletes from DII Saint Anselm's. She would then run 13.40 in the 100m dash.

Adriana Nadeau, Colby-Sawyer - Made her presence known on the track again to kick off the outdoor season as she put in a strong performance in the 5k, leading the Chargers with a 19:34.78 finish and getting 5th place overall.

Cynthia Brito, Emmanuel - Finished first in the triple jump (10.55 meters) and 12th Place in the long jump (4.46 meters).

Olivia Costa, Emmanuel - Placed third in the 400 meters (1:02.90), seventh place in the 400 meter hurdles (1:13.70), and fifth place in the 4x100 relay.

Aleyo Amasa-Titus, Regis - Achieved a personal best in the triple jump with a mark of 10.24m, earning her third place. She also narrowly missed a top-ten finish in the long jump with a leap of 4.62m.

Abby O'Brien, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Placed third in the Discus with a best throw of 31.27m and followed up with a seventh-place finish in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 38.27m. O'Brien leads the conference in both of these events after this week's efforts.

Agnessa Lysenko, Simmons - posted personal-bests in the hammer throw, which led her to fifth place at 37.12 meters. She also threw in the discus (23.42m).
