Norwich Three-Peats to Claim 2025 Women's Swimming And Diving Title

WORCESTER, Mass. – Norwich claimed the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Swimming & Diving Championship, three-peating for the Cadets as they scored 917 points to claim the conference crown.

Sunday's final day of the three-day championship featured the final eight events of this year's title chase.

Once again, the Cadets took four first-place victories tonight with two of them coming from Brandy Lewis, who won the 1650 freestyle (18:29.03) and 200 IM (2:20.33). Alannah Kelliher won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.81 while Reilly Laitala claimed victory in the 3-meter diving competition, scoring a 361.65. 

These performances led to nine event wins across all three days, helping the Cadets secure the title.

Carli Quinlan took home the first win of the night in the 100 freestyle (52.86) and later teamed up with Camelia HannahJulia Long, and Hailey Stuck in the 400 medley relay with 4:12.20. Their teammate Chaelin Humphrey won the 200 yard butterfly, touching the wall with 2:18.65. Berkley Hutchins claimed victory for Saint Joseph's (Maine) in the 50 breaststroke, winning in 31.71.

Simmons finished as this year's runner-up once again for the fourth year in a row. Regis came in third (500), followed by Saint Joseph's (Maine) (471), University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (463), Elms (297), and Albertus Magnus (233) in that order.

In addition to the final events of this year's championship, the conference also honored its major award winners. Carli Quinlan took home Swimmer of the Year honors, while Reilly Laitala was named Diver of the Year. Silvia Valeria Avila Estrada of Albertus Magnus was named this year's Rookie of the Year.

Meanwhile, Simmons head coach Michael Prout Jr. was voted the Coach of the Year this year's head coach and Saint Joseph's (Maine) also won the Institutional Sportsmanship award.

The top three finishers in each event were also recognized as the 2025 All-Conference honorees. The full list is included below.
