GNAC Women's Soccer Athlete's of the Week Report #6

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sarah Dullaghan, Emmanuel (Jr., F) 

Junior forward Sarah Dullaghan notched four goals and three assists across three games as the Saints went 2-1 on the week. Her best performance came on Tuesday (Oct. 1) where she netted two goals and also dished out three assists in a 7-0 win against Norwich. On Thursday (Oct. 3), Dullaghan notched two more goals, including the game winner, in a 2-1 win over Connecticut College. Dullaghan leads the GNAC in points (41) and goals (17), both of which are currently second in Division III. She is also tied for second in the conference in assists with seven.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Bri Nugent, Rivier (Jr., GK)

Raiders goalkeeper Bri Nugent continued her impressive performance, earning her second consecutive GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week honor. Nugent helped Rivier to a 2-0-1 week (2-0 in conference play), tallying 18 saves in total and posting a .947 save percentage. On Tuesday (Oct. 1), she made four saves while conceding just one goal in a 2-1 victory over Dean. She recorded a seven-save shutout in a 0-0 draw against Suffolk on Wednesday (Oct. 2). Nugent capped off the week with another seven-save shutout on Saturday (Oct. 5) in a 1-0 win over Saint Joseph's (Maine). She currently leads the GNAC in save percentage (.825) and shutouts (5) while ranking third in goals-against average (1.10).

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Nadia Laxa, Rivier (Fy., D)

First-year defender Nadia Laxa started all three games for the Raiders, playing a pivotal role in their 2-0-1 week (2-0 in conference play). In Tuesday's (Oct. 1) 2-1 win over Dean, Laxa assisted on the Raiders' opening goal, bringing her season assist total to six. On Wednesday (Oct. 2), she helped the defense secure a 0-0 draw against Suffolk by keeping the Rams off the scoresheet. Laxa capped off the week in style, netting her first collegiate goal, which was the game-winner, in a 1-0 victory over Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Saturday (Oct. 5).


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Kelly Malheiro, Elms- Notched two goals and one assist in a 6-0 win over Brooklyn College. She added another goal and two assists in a 3-1 win against New England College to pick up nine points on the week. 

Camdyn LaMarre, Lasell - Picked up eight total points in a 2-0 week for the Lasers. She notched two goals and three assists in an 8-0 win over New England College and tacked on another assist in a 2-0 win over Colby-Sawyer. 

Maeve Glavin, Regis - Had a strong week, scoring in both matches as the Pride went 1-0-1. She netted the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) and also found the back of the net with the lone goal in a 1-1 draw against Albertus Magnus.

Ashlyn Guerrette, Saint Joseph's College (Maine) - Had a solid week, making 12 saves across two matches while allowing just two goals in 180 minutes of play. She recorded eight saves in a 1-1 draw with Simmons and followed that up with four saves in a narrow 1-0 loss to Rivier. Guerrette finished the week with an impressive .857 save percentage.
