GNAC Women's Soccer Athlete's of the Week Report #3

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jamie McDonough, Elms (Jr., F)

Junior forward Jamie McDonough played a huge role in securing two conference wins this week, notching a total of three goals and two assists this past week. On Wednesday (Sep. 11), McDonough scored two of the three goals in a 3-1 win against Dean. Then, on Saturday (Sep. 14), she contributed to all three of the Blazers goals, recording one goal and assisting on the other two in their 3-2 win against Anna Maria. 

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Rebecca Karis, Norwich (Sr., GK)

Senior goalkeeper Rebecca Karis started both games for the Cadets in their 1-0-1 on the week. On Wednesday (Sep. 11) against Anna Maria, she recorded five saves to force a tie with the Amcats, 2-2. On Saturday (Sep. 14), she recorded an eight save shutout to help lift the Cadets over the Monks, 2-0. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jamie Davies, Johnson & Wales (Fy., F)

First-year forward Jamie Davies notched her first career hat trick this past week against Simmons in a GNAC victory. On Saturday (Sep. 14), in just 30 minutes on the field, she notched three goals and also tacked on one assist. Davies is currently tied for fifth in the GNAC in points (9).


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Olivia Vale da Serra, Anna Maria - The first year forward started both games for the Wildcats and recorded one goal and one assist across their two games. 

Hannah Kolodziey, Elms - The junior notched one goal and one assist against Dean and tacked on another assist against Anna Maria in a 2-0 week for the Blazers. 

Sarah Dullaghan, Emmanuel - Picked up eight points this week after scoring two goals in each of the two games for the Saints. This marks her second consecutive time of putting up four total goals on the week. Currently leads the GNAC in goals (9) and points (19).

Gemma Landry, Mitchell - Senior goalkeeper Gemma Landry had another impressive week in goal recording 32 saves across two games and only allowing five. Landry is currently ranked third in the GNAC in save percentage (.831).
