
WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced its 2024 Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams and major award winners on Wednesday afternoon. Johnson & Wales led the way with seven selections.
Voting was conducted by the league's 16 women's soccer head coaches following the regular season and did not take postseason play into account.
Emmanuel's Sarah Dullaghan earned the league's top offensive honor as the Offensive Player of the Year, while Johnson & Wales' Emily DeRoehn was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Year. Rivier goalkeeper Bri Nugent was named Goalkeeper of the Year and JWU's Jamie Davies earned Rookie of the Year honors. JWU head coach Chris Flint was voted Coach of the Year by his peers and Mitchell won the Institutional Sportsmanship Award.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR Sarah Dullaghan, Emmanuel Dullaghan had a season that will go down in the record books for the number one scoring offense in the nation. The junior forward set an NCAA Division III and GNAC record for most goals in a single season with 45 (and counting) and also currently leads the NCAA in Points with 99 and points per game (4.71). Her historical offensive season shows why Emmanuel is also the top scoring offense in the nation with 5.00 goals a game and 105 total goals. Dullaghan collected five hat tricks on the year and has had three games with five or more goals. The junior took home five GNAC Player of the Week honors this past season as well (Sept. 9, Oct. 7, Oct. 21, Oct. 28, Nov. 4). |

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR Emily DeRoehn, Johnson & Wales DeRoehn was the leader of a Johnson & Wales defensive unit that produced miniscule 0.13 goals-against average in conference play and 0.61 overall. In league play, DeRoehn anchored a Wildcat defense that only allowed two goals in 15 league contests. The JWU defense also collected 16 shutouts on the season, leading the GNAC and placing themselves fifth in the nation in this category. The senior defensive back also chipped in offensively for the Wildcats with six goals and four assists on the season for 16 points. |

GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR Bri Nugent, Rivier Nugent established an impressive season in net for Rivier this past season. The junior goalkeeper collected 10 wins on the year, all of which were shutout victories. Her 10 shutouts placed her in the top-15 nationally in this category. Nugent collected 98 saves on the season (fifth in GNAC) and hoisted a .803 save percentage (third in GNAC). She had nine games where she converted five or more saves with her best defensive performance in the net being against top-socring offense Emmanuel in which the junior collected 11 saves. Nugent was named Goalkeeper of the Week four times this season (Sep. 30, Oct. 7, Oct. 21, and Nov. 4). |

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR Jamie Davies, Johnson & Wales Davies had a solid freshman campaign for the Wildcats as she was one of the top offensive players for her squad. The first-year had collected eight goals and three points for JWU, which totaled to 19 points on the season. Her best offensive performance came against Simmons on Sept. 14 when Davies had collected a hat trick and an assist for seven points. She was named Rookie of the Week on Sept. 16 for her efforts following that contest. |

COACH OF THE YEAR Chris Flint, Johnson & Wales Flint led his JWU squad to an 14-0-1 record in the GNAC this season (18-4-1 overall). This season saw the Wildcats finish at the top of the conference in regular season play with 43 points. His squad also was a defensive force to be reckoned with as they only gave up two goals in conference play the whole season while netting 62 goals. The JWU defense collected 16 shutouts on the season, leading the GNAC and placing themselves fifth in the nation in this category. Flint's leadership saw the Wildcats in yet another GNAC Championship appearance in this year's tournament. |
