GNAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Report #8

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mackenzie Siebert, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (Jr., M)

Junior midfielder Mackenzie Siebert paced the Monks with a monster offensive week, guiding them to 3-0 in GNAC play this past week. Siebert started off strong against Simmons, collecting six goals and three assists for nine points. The junior followed up with four goals and three assists for seven points in a road victory over Colby-Sawyer. She proceeded to finish the week strong with five goals and four assists for nine points in a road victory over New England College. On the week, Siebert collected 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points while scooping up four ground balls and causing three turnovers.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Colleen Stringer, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (So., GK)

Sophomore goalkeeper Colleen Stringer collected two home GNAC victories for the Blue Jays this past week. Stringer started the week with six saves while only allowing three goals in a victory against Dean. The sophomore would follow up with 10 saves in a victory over Simmons, giving Stringer an average of eight saves in two games for the Blue Jays.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Anna LeGault, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (Fr., M)

First-year midfielder Anna LeGault displayed an impressive offensive performance for the Blue Jays this past week. She started the week by netting four goals and assisting five goals for nine points in a conference victory over Dean. LeGault followed that up with a one goal, six assist performance for seven points in another GNAC victory over Simmons. She had 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) and won seven draw controls for the Blue Jays on the week.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Cecilia Ponzini, Colby-Sawyer – Scored five goals and collected four assists for nine points in a 2-1 week for the Chargers.

Elise Paier, Elms – Scored 18 goals and collected four assists for 22 points in a 2-1 week for the Blazers. Scooped nine ground balls, won seven draw controls, and caused 10 turnovers.

Madeline Wright, Emmanuel – Scored nine goals in a 2-0 week for the Saints.

Madeleine Gould, Johnson & Wales – Scored seven goals and collected four assists for 11 points in a 1-1 week for the Wildcats.

Teresa Kessner, Lasell – Tallied 13 points on 11 goals and two assists for the Lasers.

Athena Merck, Norwich – Collected six goals and six assists for 12 points in a 2-0 week for the Cadets.
