GNAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Report #4

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Nathalie Antigua, New England College (Sr., A)

Senior attack Nathalie Antigua was very solid for the Pilgrims on the attack offensively in an undefeated week for New England College. The senior scored five goals and collected three assists for eight points early on in the week in a non-conference win over UMaine-Farmington. She followed up with a six point performance from four goals and two assists in another non-conference victory over Gordon. On the week, Antigua collected 14 points (nine goals, five assists) with a shot on goal percentage of 76.5 percent.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Colleen Stringer, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (So., GK)

Sophomore goalkeeper Colleen Stringer performed well in the cage for the Blue Jays of the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) this past week. In her first contest, she collected 14 saves in a non-conference matchup with Wellesley. The sophomore would follow up against Colby-Sawyer, collecting a victory in conference play while collecting 13 saves. On the week, Stringer collected 27 saves in total, averaging 13.5 saves per contest.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Caitlyn Fielder, Norwich (Fr., M)

First-year midfielder Caitlyn Fielder put on an impressive display for the Cadets in a 2-1 week. She collected a hat trick and dished out an assist in a non-conference matchup against Emerson. Fielder would duplicate the same offensive performance in a victory over Plattsburgh. Then, the first-year would score four goals and collect an assist while winning 13 draw controls in a GNAC victory over Rivier. She collected 13 points (10 goals, three assists) and won 26 draw controls on the week.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Christine Ijawet, Anna Maria – Collected 10 points (eight goals, two assists) offensively for the AMCATS. Collected six ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers defensively in a undefeated week.

Ellie Moriarty, Norwich – Collected 16 assists for the Cadets in a 2-1 week.

Hope Alto, Regis – Scored six goals and won 17 draw controls for the Pride in an undefeated week.

Mackenzie Siebert, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) – Tallied 15 points (nine goals, six assists) for the Monks in an undefeated week.

Ashley Rufo, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) – Scored seven goals, collected six ground balls, won four draw controls, and caused seven turnovers for the Blue Jays in a 1-1 week.
