GNAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Report #2

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Heather Hanson, Colby-Sawyer (Jr., M)

Junior midfielder Heather Hanson led Colby-Sawyer to two victories this past week as she put on an impressive offensive display. On Wednesday (Feb. 28), the junior registered nine points from five goals and four assists for the Chargers in a victory over Clark. Then, on Saturday (Mar. 2), Hanson would collect three points from a goal and two assists in a win over Vermont State Castleton. She finished the week with 12 points (six goals/six assists), seven groundballs, 13 draw controls, and four caused turnovers.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Joy Sayah, Lasell (So., GK)

Sophomore goalkeeper Joy Sayah played all 60 minutes for the Lasers in their lone game last week against Fitchburg State on Tuesday (Feb. 27). In those 60 minutes, Sayah converted eight saves for the Lasers.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Rose Finlayson, Colby-Sawyer (Fr., A)

First-year attack Rose Finlayson was a key piece to the Chargers winning twice this past week. She started the week with a goal and two assists to collect three points against Clark. Then, she followed up with a three goal and two assist performance for five points against Vermont State Castleton. Finlayson finished the week with eight points (four goals/four assists), 13 draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Madeline Wright, Emmanuel – Scored a pair of hat tricks in both games against Salve Regina and Plymouth State.

Mackenzie Siebert, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) – Tallied seven goals and four assists for 11 points in a 1-1 week. Scored six goals and collected three assists in a win over Husson.

Frida Turriza, Simmons – Registered five goals, seven draw controls, and six caused turnovers. Scored four goals in a win over Hartford.
