PLAYER/ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Grace Jaffray, Johnson & Wales (Fr., G) Rookie guard Grace Jaffray continues her remarkable season, earning her third GNAC Rookie of the Week and first Player of the Week honors after a record-setting performance in Johnson & Wales' only game this week. In a dominant 74-51 win over Wheaton College on Tuesday (Nov. 26), Jaffray played 37 minutes and broke the school’s single-game scoring record with 43 points. She shot 14-of-31 (45.2%) from the floor and 14-of-15 (93.3%) from the free-throw line. Adding to her stellar night, Jaffray notched a double-double by grabbing 10 rebounds and also recorded five steals. With the win, Johnson & Wales improved to a 5-0 start for the first time in a decade. The freshman currently leads the GNAC in scoring average (29.2 points per game) and ranks third in total points (146). |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Diamond White, Albertus Magnus - In the Falcons' lone game of the week, White delivered an outstanding performance, tallying 30 points, five assists, four rebounds, two steals, and a block in an 85-70 victory over Baruch College. She showcased her efficiency by shooting 63.2% from the field (12-of-19) and an impressive 66.7% from beyond the arc, draining six out of nine three-point attempts.
Jakara Murray-Leach, Albertus Magnus - Murray-Leach notched her third double-double of the season, helping lead the Falcons to an 85-70 victory over Baruch College. She contributed 19 points, 16 rebounds, and also dished out eight assists, flirting with a triple-double. She went 8-of-18 from the floor shooting 44.4%.
Marinique Reddin, Anna Maria - In just 22 minutes, senior forward Marinique Reddin delivered a double-double performance, tallying 25 points and 10 rebounds in the Amcats' 73-60 victory over Mount Holyoke. Reddin was efficient from the floor, shooting 10-of-16 (62.5%) from the field.
Laura Johnson, Lasell - Johnson put up a double-double with 16 points (72.7% from floor) and 14 rebounds while also collecting four steals in a win over UMass Boston.
Lyric Grumblatt, Rivier - Grumblatt hit an incredible milestone this week, scoring her 2,000th career point in just 86 career games played. Grumblatt also helped lead Rivier to its first victory of the season by putting up 28 points in the team's 55-40 win over Plymouth State. She also contributed seven steals and six rebounds.
Jordan Ouellette, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Ouellette led the charge for the Blue Jays in their 70-60 victory over Western Connecticut State, recording her first double-double of the season. She poured in 30 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and added three assists and three steals.
