GNAC Softball Athlete of the Week Report #1

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Trinity Payne, Simmons (So., OF)

Sophomore Trinity Payne was perfect for Simmons it its convincing, season-opening victory over Neumann on Sunday (March 3). She went 4-for-4 at the plate, including a two-run single to the opposite field in the fifth inning, which opened the floodgates as the Sharks turned a two-run lead into a 15-1 victory. Payne also came around to score three times.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Piper Kinney, Simmons (So., P)

Sophomore right-hander Piper Kinney was brilliant in Simmons’ decisive victory over Neumann on Sunday (March 3). She threw a six-inning complete game, surrendering just one unearned run on three hits and one walk. She also fanned eight batters in the contest.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Caity Flynn, Elms (Fy., P/OF)

First-year Caity Flynn went 3-for-6 at the plate during Elms’ 1-1 week. She collected all three hits in an 8-7 win over Bluffton, while also contributing two runs scored and an RBI to the 8-7 victory. She also had a solid performance in the circle, throwing 1 1/3 innings without allowing a run and striking out one.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Josie Cammarata, Elms - Batted .500 for the week, inclduign a 3-for-4 showing in a victory over Bluffton. She also had a run scored and two RBI in the contest.

Olivia Conti, Emmanuel - Went 2-for-4 at the plate, driving in four and scoring twice in Emmanuel's 9-2 win over Neumann.

Raya Anderson, Simmons - Went 3-for-3 at the plate in Simmons' victory over Neumann. Scored three times and drove in two.
