Monks Complete Three-Peat, Claim 2025 GNAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Title

BOSTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph's (Maine) came out on top once again, dominating  their way to a three-peat, winning the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center on Sunday (Feb. 16).

The Monks earned 234 points to claim their third consecutive GNAC title, winning 10 of 16 events in the process. Their versatility of talent was on full display today. Abdirizak Abukar took home two gold medals individually for the Monks in the 60m (7.18) and the 200m (22.41). Jacob Schmader won the 400m in 50.09 while Haytham Ramadan secured gold in the 800m (1:55.47) and the mile event (4:25.39). Jacob Pelletier added two more event victories in the 3k (9:15.34) and the 5k (15:44.87) while Matthew Corriveau placed first in the long jump (6.65m) and Isaac Keresey won the pole vault competition (3.26m) to secure two field events. The Monks also secured a first-place finish in the 4x400 relay with a 3:22.03 time with the team consisting of Abukar, Schmader, Ramadan, and Tyler Ricker.

Regis came as the runner-up in this year's event, finishing first in three events and accumulating 104 points in the event. Harry Grayson won the lone track event for the Pride in the 60m hurdles (8.53) while Ryan Sweeney's 12.93m mark in the shot put and Aiden Charles' 14.13 mark in the weight throw gave two field event victories for Regis.

Coming in third was Emmanuel, who had 56 points. Pierre Paul Labossiere struck gold twice in the high jump at 1.90m and 13.43m in the Triple Jump to earn two event victories for the Saints.

Colby-Sawyer (51) captured the final event victory with a distance medley relay team consisting of Martin Steueck, Cross Sierra, Jonathan Platti, and Cody Thompson with a 11:24.11 finish. Lasell (40) rounded out the final spot in this year's Indoor Track and Field Championship.

All the individual champions, along with the other two medalists in each event (teams in relays) were named to the GNAC All-Conference Team as the major award winners will be voted on by the league's head coaches and announced at a later time to be determined.
