PLAYER OF THE WEEK Christopher Vargas, Johnson & Wales (So., M) Sophomore midfielder Christopher Vargas earns Player of the Week honors after racking up eight points across three games. Vargas scored in each contest, starting with a game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Roger Williams on Monday (Oct. 7). He followed up with another goal in a dominant 7-0 win over Elms on Wednesday (Oct. 9). Vargas capped off the week with his best performance on Saturday (Oct. 12), netting the game-winning goal and adding two assists in a 5-0 win over Lasell. |

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK Hayden Walker, New England College (Sr., GK) Senior goalkeeper Hayden Walker repeats as the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week after delivering another standout performance with 11 saves and just one goal against intwo ties for the Pilgrims. On Wednesday (Oct. 9), Walker played the full 90 minutes and recorded a clean sheet with six saves in a 0-0 draw against Saint Joseph's College (Maine.). He followed that with five more saves, allowing only one goal in a 1-1 tie against Regis on Saturday (Oct. 12). Walker finished the week with a .917 save percentage and currently ranks fourth in the GNAC in save percentage (.843) and fifth in goals against average (1.07). |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Mario Milardo, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (Fy., M) First-year midfielder Mario Milardo recorded the only two goals for the Blue Jays this week, helping them to a pair of 1-1 draws. On Wednesday (Oct. 9), Milardo netted his first collegiate goal in a tie against Albertus Magnus. He followed that performance on Saturday (Oct. 12) by scoring the equalizer in the 78th minute to secure another 1-1 draw against Anna Maria. |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
David Lucero, Albertus Magnus - Junior goalkeeper David Lucero allowed just one goal in 180 minutes of action this past week, helping the Falcons go 1-0-1. He made five saves in a 1-1 draw against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) and followed it up with a shutout performance, recording two saves in a 1-0 win over Norwich.
Rubelsi Moran, Anna Maria - Contributed to both of the Amcats' goals this past week. He assisted on their goal in a 2-1 loss to Emmanuel and scored the lone goal in a 1-1 draw against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) and assisted on their lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Emmanuel.
Clay Tyler, Dean - First-year forward Clay Tyler played a crucial role in Dean's 2-1 victory over Norwich on Wednesday (Oct. 9). He assisted on the opening goal before scoring the game-winner to secure the win.
Declan Caster, Johnson & Wales - The senior goalkeeper went 3-0 on the week after starting all three games for the Wildcats. He recorded five total saves and did not conceed a single goal in 177:55 minutes of play. Caster currently leads the GNAC in goals against average (0.56) and is second in save percentage (.881).
Nathan Da Cruz, Mitchell - Sophomore forward Nathan Da Cruz notched both of Mitchell's goals this past week in two narrow 2-1 losses to Fitchburg State and Colby-Sawyer. He found the back of the net once in each match.
