GNAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week Report #5

GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Shamus McLean, Mitchell (Sr.)

Mitchell senior Shamus McLean took the top individual spots twice for the Mariners this week. The senior began the week by claiming medalist honors at the Mitchell Invitational III on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 2) by carding a four-over-par round of 75 and followed up with a career-best score of 68 (-2) to claim the top individual spot on Friday afternoon at the Mitchell College men's golf duel with Dean College. McLean has now earned his fifth medal in the six Mariner events this season.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Kyle Bowlan, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr.)

Saint Joseph's (Maine) First-year Kyle Bowlan was a key contributor to the Monks' two second-place finishes in both the UNE and Monks Invitational. Bowlan finished in ninth and eight place, carding an 83 in both events.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Drew Mathieu, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Finished with medalist honors at UNE Invitational (74) and a third-place finish at the Monks Invitational (77).
