WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced its 2024-25 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams and major award winners on Tuesday afternoon.

Voting was conducted by the league's 15 Men's Basketball head coaches following the regular season and did not take postseason play into account.

The Regis College Men's Basketball team was the recipient of the Institutional Sportsmanship award.

The full list of All-Conference honorees and the representatives on the All-Sportsmanship Team can be viewed below.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Remijo Wani, Saint Joseph's (Maine)

Remijo was a major contributor to a league-leading Monk offense as the Portland, Maine native averaged 18.6 points per game (sixth in conference) and totaled 538 points (second in conference) for SJC while shooting 51.1% from the floor, 36.2% from three, and 88.6% from the charity stripe (second in league) while averaging 28.3 minutes per game. Wani collected 5.5 rebounds per game and 1.7 steals per game (49 total). Remijo collected 13 games of 20+ points and two or more steals while having 20 games of five or more rebounds. Wani was named GNAC Player of the Week twice this season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Wani Donato, Saint Joseph's (Maine)

Wani Donato was the rim protector that anchored the Monks defense this past season as the Portland, Maine native boasted 1.3 blocks per game, which was good for fourth in the league as well as totaling 38 blocks (second in conference) while playing 25.5 minutes per game. Donato grabbed 6.4 rebounds a game while collecting 60 offensive rebounds as he was a huge part of giving the Monks a second chance at scoring. The junior had 20 games of 5+ rebounds and 10 games of two or more blocks.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Silvano Ismail, Saint Joseph's (Maine)

It was quite a year for the first-year from Portland, Maine as Silvano averaged 16.4 points per game on a league's third best 57% and a league-best 43.3% along with 6.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists. His 114 assists placed him third in the conference in that category. Defensively, he collected 1.8 steals a game and totaled 46 steals in the process. Ismail scored in double-digits in 22 of 26 games as well as putting up five+ rebounds in 21 of those games. Silvano earned GNAC Rookie of the Week eight times as well as Player of the Week once this past season.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Tyler Ackley, Saint Joseph's (Maine)

Ackley led a league-leading offense which also placed top-fvive in the nation at 92.1 points per game to a 13-1 GNAC (24-4 overall) record. SJC earned the top-seed in this year's tournament under his helm and earned the league's automatic qualifying bid into this year's DIII NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament after winning the conference title this past weekend. His squad's success offensively was largely due to their ability to shoot from the three as they shot a league-leading 11.3 threes a game (ninth in DIII) while also collecting a league-leading 44.7 rebounds per game (fifth in the nation).
