GNAC Field Hockey Athlete of the Week Report #1

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Haley Budenas, Johnson & Wales (Sr., D)

Senior Defender Haley Budenas displayed a versatile offensive output for the Wildcats in a 1-1 week. She scored twice and notched an assist in a 8-0 shutout victory over Framingham State and collected another assist in a setback against Roger Williams to finish the week with six points.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Allie Colburn, Regis (So, B)

Sophomore Allie Colburn anchored a Regis defense that shut-out Gordon in their season opener as the Pride held Gordon without a penalty corner and only allowed one shot the entire contest.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Courtney Tello, Lasell (Sr., GK)

Senior Goalkeeper Courtney Tello was instrumental in a tight 1-0 victory against UMass Dartmouth as she collected her first shut-out victory on the season and stopped nine shots for the Lasers in their season opener at home.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Mariana Agahigian, Regis (Fr., F)

First-year Mariana Agahigian had solid production offensively for Regis in her collegiate debut against Gordon. She collected her first career assist and goal in a 3-0 victory, collecting three points.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Makenzie Anderson, New England College – Collected two wins and totaled six saves, only allowing one goal.

Adelaide Kelly, New England College- Scored two goals and had an assist in a win vs UMaine.-Farmington.

Mackenzie O’Shea, Regis- Attributed to all three goals in the Regis victory vs Gordon (two goals, one assist).

Sydney Gonyea, Simmons- Scored four goals, including a hat trick vs UMaine.-Farmington.
