PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brady Aylward, Anna Maria (Jr., C)

Junior catcher Brady Aylward had a great showing in both games resulting in a .429 batting average for three total Runs Batted In (RBI's) and a pair of doubles, posting a .714 slugging percentage. The Southington, Conn. native also locked things down behind home plate as the catcher in game one as he went 8 for 8 on total chances and putouts.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Michael Shorey, Anna Maria (Sr., P)

Senior pitcher Michael Shorey did not allow a single hit in four innings for the Amcats as the Northbridge, Mass. native struck out four batters in the process, picking up the win as well in the process.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jesse Buonocore, Anna Maria (Fr., P)

First-year pticher Jesse Buonocore had himself a collegiate debut as the West Haven, Conn. native posted six strikeouts in three innings pitched while allowing only one hit.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

 

Eddie Kaftan, Mitchell - Went six innings in his first start of the season, surrendering just two earned runs, while striking out seven on the road at Kean University.

Chas Terni Jr., Mitchell - Slashed .429/.500/1.000 percentages across two games on the week for the Mariners, collecting three hits, including a home run and a double, while driving in one run and scoring twice.
