GNAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week Report #3

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Erin Kelley, Regis (Gr.)

Graduate student Erin Kelley had a busy week for Regis as she competed in three races at three separate meets throughout the week. She began the week on her own track at the Regis Spring Classic, running in the 1500m and 5K races. She took first in the 5K with a time of 21:38.45 and finished fifth in the 1500, clocking in at 5:14.56. Kelley next competed at the Connecticut College Silfen Invitational where she broke her own school record in the 10K by over three seconds. She crossed the finish line at 39:40.83 and finished 11th overall to qualify for the New England Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Kelley completed the week with a sixth place finish in the unseeded heat of the 5K at Smith Carla Coffey Invitational.

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Brooklyn Goff, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (Sr.)

Saint Joseph’s (Maine) senior Brooklyn Goff picked up heptathlon victory at the Monks Invitational this weekend as she scored 3872, besting her closest competitor by 755 points. Goff finished first in six of the events, including the 100m hurdles (16.72), high jump (1.57m, 5’1.75”), 200m dash (27.58), long jump (4.98m, 16’4.25”), javelin (24.06m, 78’11”), and the 800m run (2:40.39). She also finished second in the shot put with a mark of 7.88m (25’10.25”). She set program records in the high jump and heptathlon and currently ranks just outside of the top-30 in the heptathlon on the NCAA Division III Outdoor Qualifying List.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Colleen Curran, Regis (Fr.)

Regis freshman Colleen Curran was active this week, competing in both the Regis Spring Classic and the Smith Carla Coffey Invitational. At her team’s home meet, she competed in the long jump and pole vault, setting personal-best marks in both events. She marked 4.96m (16’3.25”) in the long jump and cleared 2.28m (7’5.75”) in the pole vault, while also participating in Regis’ second-place, 4x100m relay, which clocked in at 51.43. Over the weekend, Curran was part of the heptathlon at the Smith Carla Coffey Invitational. She placed 10th overall with a score of 3033, which set a Regis outdoor school record.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Adriana Nadeau, Colby-Sawyer - Finished in 13th place in the 10K run with a personal best time of 39:50.32 at the Connecticut College Silfen Invitational. Also placed 14th mile run at the Penmen Relays with a school record time of 5:50.20.

Samantha Perkins, Regis - Took first in the javelin at the Regis Spring Classic with a mark of 35.01m (114'10"), which qualified her for the New England Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Also finished eighth in the shot put with a throw of 9.49m (31' 1.75"). Later in the week finished sixth in the javelin at the Smith Carla Coffey Invitational with a throw of 32.19m (105'7").
