PLAYER OF THE WEEK Mary Thoms, Colby-Sawyer (Sr.) Senior Mary Thoms helped Colby-Sawyer to a 2-1 record in a trio of dual matches this week playing at the No. 4 position in singles and as part of the Chargers’ No. 3 doubles pair. She was perfect in double, defeating Eastern Nazarene, 8-3, the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), 8-3, and Emerson, 8-4. She was also solid in singles play coming away with straight-set victories against both ENC and USJ. However, she dropped her No. 4 singles match against Emerson, 6-7 (0-8), 3-6.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Maria Espinosa Lopez, Colby-Sawyer (Fy.) First-year Maria Espinosa Lopez put together a 5-1 week as Colby-Sawyer went 2-1 in dual matches. She was part of the No. 2 doubles pair for the Chargers, recording a 2-1 record. She bested the second duo of both Eastern Nazarene and the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) with 8-0 scores before succumbing to Emerson’s No. 2 pair 8-3. In singles, she played as CSC’s No. 3, pitching a perfect 3-0 record with three straight-set victories. Against USJ, she did not drop a single game.
