GNAC Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week Report #9

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sarah Dullaghan, Emmanuel (So., F)

Sophomore forward Sarah Dullaghan led the charge offensively for the Saints this past week, collecting 12 points in the process. On Monday (Oct. 23), she scored twice and assisted once to give Emmanuel a 7-0 victory over Rivier in the regular-season finale. Then on Saturday (Oct. 28), the two met again in the quarterfinals. This time, the sophomore netted a hat trick and assisted twice to advance the Saints onto the semifinals where they will host Lasell.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Lataya Simmons, Lasell (Fr., GK)

First-year goalkeeper Lataya Simmons anchored the Lasers on defense this week. She picked up a victory over Colby-Sawyer Monday (Oct. 23) in the regular season finale, collecting two saves in the process. Then, on Saturday (Oct. 28), Simmons picked up another victory and collected six saves in a thrilling quarterfinals victory over the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) to advance Lasell to the semifinals where they face Emmanuel.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Ciara Horan, Emmanuel (Fr., F)

First-year forward Ciara Horan had a solid week offensively for the Saints as she registered eight points. Horan scored and assisted twice against Rivier in their final regular season game. Then, in the quarterfinals, the first-year found the back of the net once as she contributed to an Emmanuel victory.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Bridget O’Connell, Colby-Sawyer – Scored three goals this week, with two of them being in a quarterfinals victory over Regis.

Gaby Baker, Emmanuel – Registered two shutouts for the Saints and collected a save in the quarterfinal victory over Rivier.

Jessica Lee, Johnson & Wales – Collected five points from two goals and an assist, with three points coming from a quarterfinals victory over Elms.

Michelina D’Agostino, Lasell – Assisted once vs. Colby-Sawyer and netted the game-winning goal for the Lasers in a 2-1 quarterfinal victory.

Stephanie Bronowicki, New England College – Collected 15 saves in a 3-2 victory over Mitchell in the season finale on Tuesday (Oct. 24).

Madison Corcoran, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) – Collected 14 saves for the Blue Jays, with eight coming from a quarterfinals setback against Lasell.
