WOMEN'S SOCCER: JWU's Restivo Repeats as GNAC Player of the Year

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Restivo currently leads
Division III in assists and points

WINTHROP, Mass. – After once again topping all league leaders in points, Johnson & Wales University (RI) grad student Jordan Restivo has been voted the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season.

This fall, she topped the GNAC in goals (23), assists (19) and points (65), while the assist and point totals are currently tops in all of Division III across the country. A Utica, N.Y. native with unrelenting speed, Restivo also has seven game-winners on the year.

Meanwhile, JWU sophomore teammate Emily DeRoehn was named the 2022 GNAC Defensive Player of the Year, as voted upon by the league's 14 head coaches.

Restivo, DeRoehn and the Wildcats will learn their NCAA Tournament opponent today at 2PM after capturing JWU's third straight GNAC title on Saturday night. JWU also had midfielders Trina Capezza and Angelina Oliveira named All-GNAC First Team.

Emmanuel College claimed the GNAC's three other major awards after an impressive 2022 season. After a 7-6 league mark in 2021, the Saints went 9-2-2 in GNAC play under head coach Francis Okaroh, en route to GNAC Coach of the Year accolades.

Emmanuel first-year forward  Sarah Dullaghan was named the GNAC Rookie of the Year, while classmate Patricia Kirejczyk claimed GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year honors. Dullaghan finished fourth in the GNAC in goals (13) and fifth in points (30) and was also EC's All-Sportsmanship Team choice, while Kirejczyk led the GNAC in both save percentage (.935) and goals-against average (0.18).
