CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – An historic season came to a conclusion on Saturday for the Johnson & Wales University women's soccer team. The Wildcats dropped a 3-0 decision to #5 MIT in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Records:
#5 MIT: 20-1-2
Johnson & Wales: 16-7

Goalkeepers:
MIT: Lauren Castle (W, 2-1) 3 saves
JWU: Colleen Lynch (L, 15-3) 12 saves

Statistical Leaders:
Montana Reilly (MIT): 2 Goals, 1 Assist

Of Note:
After a scoreless first half, the Engineers picked up the opening goal just 2:30 into the second stanza. JWU goalie Colleen Lynch stopped Emily Berzolla's initial shot, but Montana Reilly was there to put back the rebound. Reilly would add an insurance goal in the 85th minute, scoring off her own rebound.

JWU had a scoring opportunity in the opening minutes, but Alexis Vieira's shot was saved by MIT goalie Ava Gillikin.

Keeping the Wildcats in the game was Lynch as she tied her career-high with 12 saves.

Head coach Chris Flint only has four seniors on this year's roster that he will have to replace, but that includes Lynch – the program's all-time leader in goalie victories - and captain Cat Nolan.
