GNAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Report #6

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Madeleine Gould, Johnson & Wales (Jr., A)

Junior attack Madeleine Gould had a stellar offensive performance for the Wildcats this past week, leading them to an undefeated week. Against Lasell, she scored six goals and assisted on two for eight points and followed up with a hat trick and three assists for six points in a non-conference matchup against Worcester State. In the final game of the week, the junior collected four goals and five assists for nine points against Mitchell. On the week, Gould put up 13 goals and 10 assists for a total 23 points, holding an impressive 84.6 percent (22-for-26) for shot on goal attempts. The junior also collected five ground balls and won 20 draw controls on the week as well for the Wildcats.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Isabella Thomas, Emmanuel (Jr., GK)

Junior goalkeeper Isabella Thomas picked up two road conference victories this past week for the Saints. Thomas collected seven saves in the first GNAC contest against Regis and followed up with collecting six saves in a closely contested match-up with Saint Joseph’s (Maine). On the week, the junior collected 13 saves in the cage.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Anna LeGault, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (Fr., M)

First-year midfielder Anna LeGault was very explosive on the offensive end of the field for the Blue Jays, guiding them to a 3-0 week in conference play. LeGault started the week with four goals and an assist for five points in a home contest over Anna Maria. Then, she scored a hat trick and collected four assists for seven points in a shutout at Mitchell. The first-year ended the week with six goals and two assists for eight points against Albertus Magnus. LeGault finished the week with 13 goals and seven assists for 20 points while collecting seven ground balls and winning 12 draw controls.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Soph Kuhlthau, Colby-Sawyer – Collected 11 points (nine goals, two assists) in an undefeated week. Collected nine ground balls and won eight draw controls.

Livia Fedele, Emmanuel – Tallied nine points on seven goals and two assists in undefeated conference play.

Caitlyn Fielder, Norwich – Scored five goals and collected seven assists for 12 points offensively. She collected five ground balls, caused three turnovers, and won five draw controls.

Sarah Lachance, Rivier – Collected 18 points from 13 goals and five assists offensively on the week.

Ashley Rufo, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) – Collected 18 points from 12 goals and six assists while collecting 17 ground balls, causing seven turnovers, and winning 18 draw controls.
