GNAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Report #3

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Heather Hanson, Colby-Sawyer (Jr., M)

Junior midfielder Heather Hanson had a great all-around performance this week, guiding the Chargers to a 2-0 week. Hanson started the week against Fitchburg State with four goals and an assist for five points. She collected six ground balls, three draw controls, and three caused turnovers as well, giving Colby-Sawyer a victory over Fitchburg State. The junior followed up with a seven-point performance against Salem State (five goals, two assists) while winning four draw controls, scooping seven ground balls, and caused five turnovers. On the week, Hanson finished with 12 points (nine goals, three assists), 13 ground balls, seven draw controls, and eight caused turnovers.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Colleen Stringer, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (So., GK)

Sophomore goalkeeper Colleen Stringer was solid in the cage for the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) this past week, picking up two victories in the process. She picked up a non-conference victory against Mount Holyoke in which the sophomore collected seven saves for the Blue Jays. She followed up collecting seven saves in a GNAC tilt against Rivier. On the week, Stringer had 14 saves.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Anna LeGault, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (Fr., M)

First-year midfielder Anna LeGault had herself a week offensively for the Blue Jays. She collected a hat trick and dished out three assists in a non-conference victory over Mount Holyoke. LeGault followed up with another hat trick and collected five assists in a GNAC victory over Rivier. The first-year finished the week with 14 points (six goals, eight assists) while collecting six ground balls.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Haley Gaunt, Dean – Collected 15 points (13 goals, two assists) on the week for the Bulldogs.

Livia Fedele, Emmanuel – Had six goals, four assists for 10 points with four caused turnovers in a 1-1 week.

Maris Dibeneditto, Johnson & Wales – Racked up eight goals and four assists for 12 points in a 1-1 week. Had three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Hope Alto, Regis – Scored eight goals for the Pride in a victory over UMass-Dartmouth.

Mackenzie Siebert, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) – Tallied 12 points (five goals, seven assists) for the Monks in a 1-1 week.
