GNAC WOMEN'S LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

WINTHROP, Mass. – No. 1 North seed Emmanuel and No. 1 South seed Johnson & Wales will meet in the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Lacrosse Championship after both teams won their GNAC Semifinals on Tuesday (April 30) evening. The Saints will host the title match on Sunday, May 5 at 11 a.m.

Both squads handled their opponents on their home turf. The Saints defeated No. 3 North seed Colby-Sawyer, 18-5, while the Wildcats disposed of No. 2 North seed Saint Joseph's (Maine), 15-8.

With the No. 1 seeds from each division advancing, the league's championship hosting tiebreaker was used to determine the championship host. Emmanuel and JWU were scheduled as one each other's four conference interdivision games with the Saints claiming the 14-13 advantage back on April 13, granting them hosting duties.

Emmanuel's last GNAC Championship appearance was in 2021 when JWU got the best of them. The Wildcats have appeared in league final in each of the past seven seasons and come into this year's matchup as the reigning GNAC Champions.

In addition to the GNAC Women's Lacrosse crown, the teams will also be playing for the league's automatic qualifier into the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.
