Rivier, Emmanuel to host quarterfinal matches on Tuesday

WINTHROP, Mass. – Defending conference champion Wentworth secured the top seed in the 2023 GNAC Tournament on Saturday, finishing with a 15-1 league record. The tournament gets underway next Tuesday, April 11. The Leopards, which are currently ranked No. 12 in the NVA/AVCA Division III Coaches Poll, are in search of their sixth-straight trip to the conference final and receive a bye directly into the semifinals.

Also receiving a bye is second-seeded Lasell, which went 13-3 in conference play this year. The Lasers victory over the top-seeded Leopards on Saturday gave them the tiebreaker over Rivier, which also finished 13-3.

The Leopards and Lasers will await the winners of the two GNAC Quarterfinal matches, which are scheduled for Tuesday, April 11. In those matches, No. 4 seed Emmanuel (19-13, 10-6 GNAC) will host No. 5 seed Emerson (12-14, 8-8 GNAC), while No. 3 seed Rivier (19-10, 13-3 GNAC) hosts No. 6 seed Regis (12-16, 7-9 GNAC). Both matches will begin at 7 p.m.

The quarterfinal winners will join Wentworth and Lasell in the semifinals on Thursday, April 13 with both teams hosting at 7PM. The two semifinal winners will play in the GNAC Championship on Saturday, April 15 at 2PM

There is no reseeding throughout the GNAC Tournament, with the league champion receiving the GNAC's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
