MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Matyas Csiki-Fejer, Suffolk (So., St. Louis, Mo.)

In his second straight regional appearance, he was one place out of All-New England honors in the 3K with a ninth-place finish with a time of 8:44.61, just 1.16 seconds behind eighth-place performer Ajay Sarathy of Amherst. He has the best showing of all GNAC runners at regionals.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Emily Manfra, Suffolk (Sr., Stoneham, Mass.)

In her third trip to the regional race, Emily Manfra collected All-New England honors from the New England Coaches Association for the second straight season in the mile. The senior from Stoneham, Massachusetts, produced her first sub-5:00.0 mile at New Englands, clocking in at 4:57.46 to finish as the 27-runner field runner-up. The long-distance runner was 3.3 behind individual champion Sydney Packard of WPI. Manfra's performance was a personal-best at the regional race.

MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Michael Balestra, Suffolk (So., Lincoln, R.I.)

Had the best performance of GNAC field athletes at the NCAA DIII New England Regionals with a 12-place finish behind a 14.96-meter toss in the weight throw. He was four places away from all-region honors as the Rams' first-ever male field athlete to compete at New Englands in program history

 

WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Allison Rodrigues, Suffolk (So., North Andover, Mass.)

Rodrigues put together her best showing at New Englands in her career with her second straight trip in the shot put. Her 11.39 toss put her 12th in the field of 23, both of which are personal-bests. She was the only GNAC track athlete to compete at regionals. 

 

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Olivia Juneau, Regis (Fr., Wakefield, Mass.)

Juneau capped a stellar indoor season by competing at the New England Division III Championships at Middlebury College Saturday. In the 400 meter dash, Juneau finished second in her heat and 19th overall with a time of 1:02.57

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 13 member institutions and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Founded in 1995, the GNAC annually sponsors and administers 22 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunity and community involvement in an effort to enhance the student-athlete experience.
