FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 3 - 9 | GNAC PERFORMANCE LIST

GNAC INAUGURAL CHAMPIONSHIPS: SUNDAY, FEB. 16 at BOSTON UNIV.

MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Troy Hendricks, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (So., Hiram, Maine)

Hendricks placed second in the Mile (4:39) and 12th in the 800-Meter run (2:10.68) at Plymouth State University on Saturday. He was tops among GNAC runners in the mile and owns the second-best time in the conference this season. 

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Hannah Fitzpatrick, Emmanuel (So., Revere, Mass.)

Fitzpatrick added six points to Emmanuel's squad with a third place finish in the mile run. She finished the race in 5:25.67 only behind two Smith College runners, for the third-fastest time in the GNAC.

MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Michael Balestra, Suffolk (So., Lincoln, R.I.)

Finished third in the shot put with a 14.49-meter toss at Plymouth State's Panther Invitational, which featured GNAC counterparts Colby Sawyer, Emmanuel, Regis and Saint Joseph's (Maine). He was the top GNAC finisher in the event 

 

WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Amanda Jordan, Emmanuel (Jr., Stoneham, Mass.) - Jordan competed in the Panther Invitational hosted by Plymouth State. She had a second-place finish in the long jump with a best jump of 4.92 meters, which is tops in the GNAC this season. Also in the 400 meter dash, Jordan finished in sixth place with a time of 1:06.85, contributing to Emmanuel's total for three points. 

 

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Connor Baston, Suffolk (Fr., Bristol, Conn.)

Baston competed in the long jump for the first time in his career at Plymouth State's Panther Invitational. He had the top GNAC performance, clearing 5.90 meters for eighth overall in the field of 22, as the mark was fourth-best in the GNAC this season.

 

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Olivia Juneau, Regis (Fr., Wakefield, Mass.)

At the Plymouth State Panther Invitational Saturday, Juneau qualified for the finals of the 60 meter hurdles with a preliminary time of 10.25 seconds, over 3/10ths of a second quicker than her previous personal best. She then finished fourth in the final at 10.38 seconds, plus she ended up 21st in the 60 meter dash preliminaries with a time of 8.86 seconds


WEEK 7 HONOR ROLL

GNAC performance list in the 5000 meter run

Peter Bakker, Colby-Sawyer (Sr., Barkhamsted, Conn.) - At Saturday's Panther Invitational, Bakker led the Chargers in the 3K with a third-place showing in a time of 9:19.79 to finish behind two student-athletes from Division II Franklin Pierce. It was the fourth-fastest 3K time in the GNAC this season.

Macy Lapan, Colby-Sawyer (Jr., Dracut, Mass.) - Lapan came away with a season best mark of 10.30 meters to finish third in the triple jump at Saturday's Panther Invitational, good for second in the GNAC in the TJ. She added a personal-best distance of 4.53 meters to place eighth in the long jump. 

Cole Anderson, Regis (Jr., Falmouth, Maine) - Anderson continued his strong indoor season at the Panther Invitational at Plymouth State Saturday. Anderson finished fourth in the weight throw, one of five top-five finishes for the Pride men's track and field team, with a mark of 14.09 meters (46' 2.75"), accomplished on his first attempt of the finals (fourth throw overall). Anderson also finished 16th in the shot put with a top throw of 11.17 meters (36' 7.75"). Anderson is currently second in the weight throw and fifth in the shot put on the GNAC performance list.

Emily Fagundo, Regis (So., Dover, N.H.) - Fagundo returned to her home state to compete in the Panther Invitational at Plymouth State Saturday. She posted an indoor personal best in the long jump, finishing seventh with a top leap of 4.65 meters (15' 3.25"), achieved on her second jump of the finals (fifth jump overall). She also posted a seventh place finish in the 200 meter dash in 28.42 seconds, also an indoor personal best. Fagundo is now tied for third in the long jump and fourth in the 200 meter dash on the GNAC performance list

Ashleigh Kelley, Regis (So., Stoneham, Mass.) - At the Plymouth State Panther Invitational Saturday, Kelley set a new Regis record in the one mile run, finishing fourth in the event with a time of 5:29.49. Kelley's time was 3.59 seconds faster than the previous standard established by Molly Curtin almost four full years ago. Kelley is now fourth on the GNAC performance list in the mile run, plus she remains first in the 1000 meter run and fourth in the 3000 meter run. 

Nicholas Pastore, Regis (So., Norwood, Mass.) - Pastore enjoyed a strong performance at the Plymouth State Panther Invitational Saturday. Pastore won his heat and finished third overall in the 200 meter dash with an indoor personal best time of 23.89 seconds. He also produced a season best mark in the long jump, finishing in a tie for 12th place after jumping 5.70 meters (18' 8.5") on his third and final attempt. Pastore is now fifth on the GNAC performance list in the 200 meter dash as well as second in the 60 meter dash.

Ricky Reyes, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (Fr., Worcester, Mass.) - Reyes finished second in the 400-Meter dash (53.74) and placed 12th in the 200-Meter dash (25.08) at Plymouth State University on Saturday

Samantha VanDeMoere, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (So., Thornton, N.H.) - VanDeMoere finished third in the 800-Meter run (2:30.34) at Plymouth State University on Saturday.

Simon Vinci, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (Fr., Peabody, Mass.) - Vinci placed 4th in the Shot Put (13.15m) and broke his previous school record in the Weight Throw with a 13.48m effort, good for seventh overall, at Plymouth State University on Saturday

Cole Bolduc, Suffolk (Fr., Blackstone, Mass.) - Placed 11th in the mile with a time of 4:45.41 at Plymouth State's Panther Invitational. Was the second-best GNAC runner in the event

Allison Rodrigues, Suffolk (So., North Andover, Mass.) - Competed in the shot put and weight throw at Plymouth State's Panther Invitational. She was the top GNAC finisher in the shot put with a fourth-place finish behind a 10.76-meter toss. In the weight throw, she finished 16th behind a 10.30-meter performanc

Founded in 1995, the GNAC annually sponsors and administers 22 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunity and community involvement in an effort to enhance the student-athlete experience.
