GNAC PERFORMANCE LIST
( FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 27 - FEBRUARY 2 )

MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Matyas Csiki-Fejer, Suffolk (So., St. Louis, Mo.)

Qualified for New Englands in the mile at Tufts Branwen Smith-King Invitational with a time of 4:25.40, good for ninth in the field of 49. That time is the fastest for a GNAC runner this season.

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Emily Manfra, Suffolk (Sr., Stoneham, Mass.)

Manfra qualified for New Englands in the 800 with a third-place finish in the field of 39 at Tufts' Branwen Smith-King Invitational behind a time of 2:22.30, the best time in the GNAC this season.

MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Michael Balestra, Suffolk (So., Lincoln, R.I.)

Balestra had the top finish of GNAC throwers this weekend. In a field that featured the top 10 weight throwers in New England at Tufts' Branwen Smith-King Invitational the sophomore shoved the weight throw 15.06 meters to finish eighth out of the 37-competitor field. Had a 15.06-meter weight throw toss to take eighth in the field of 37 at Tufts' Branwen Smith-King Invitational

 

WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Allison Rodrigues, Suffolk (So., North Andover, Mass.)

Rodrigues had a season-high performance in the shot put with a toss of 11.29 meters to finish sixth in the 40-competitor field at Tufts' Branwen Smith-King Invitational. That performance highlights the GNAC competitors this season. She also competed in the weight throw, where she placed 21st out of 39 with a 10.89-meter throw

 

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Connor Baston, Suffolk (Fr., Bristol, Conn.)

Baston had the fastest time in the GNAC in both events he competed in at the Tufts Branwen Smith-King Invitational. Finished 12th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.40 and placed 12th in the 200 out of 58 foes with a time of 23.62.

 

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Savannah Goddeeris, Suffolk (Fr., Imlay City, Mich.)

Goddeeris put together a 11:09.21 3K at Tufts' Branwen Smith-King Invitational. That time was good for 19th in the field of 33 and is the third-best in the league this season behind her teammates, Suffolk's senior captains Emily Manfra and Emma Weisse


WEEK 6 HONOR ROLL

Caleigh Blackmer, Emmanuel (So., Warwick, R.I.) - Blackmer competed in the weight throw at the Tufts Branwen Smith-King Invite, finishing in 15th place with a personal record of 12.25 meters.

Luke Elson, Emmanuel (So., Ashaway, R.I.) - Elson finished the weekend with great showings in two events. In the 400 meter final, Elson finished in 18th place with a time of 53.63 seconds and places 20th place in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.59.

Kennedy Davignon, Emmanuel (So., Woodstock, Conn.) - In her first season as a member of the indoor track & field team, Davigon showed incredibly well at Tufts University over the weekend. Davigon finished in 22nd place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.30 seconds and finished the 400 meter also in 22nd place with a final time of 1:05.2

Hannah Fitzpatrick, Emmanuel (So., Revere, Mass.) - Fitzpatrick qualified for New England's in the 800 meter final at the Tufts University Branwen Smith-King Invitational with a 12th place finish, a final time of 2:27.21.

Jackie Schneider, Emmanuel (Sr., Weymouth, Mass.) - In her senior season, Schneider broke the Emmanuel record in the pentathlon, placing sixth with a final score of 2735 points.

Elisabeth Cooke, Regis (Sr., East Longmeadow, Mass.) - Cooke finished in the top 20 in both throwing events she competed in Saturday at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational hosted by Tufts. She finished 15th in the shot put with a top throw of 10.12 meters (33' 2.5") and 20th in the weight throw with a top mark of 10.96 meters (35' 11.5").

Ashleigh Kelley, Regis (So., Stoneham, Mass.) - Kelley qualified for the New England Division III Championships for the second straight year. In the 1000 meter run at Tufts' Branwen Smith-King Invitational, she finished fifth with a time of 3:11.56, 1.29 seconds faster than the mark she posted in the same event the previous week. Kelley also anchored Regis' 4x800 meter relay to a fourth place finish with a time of 11:08.27

Olivia Juneau, Regis (Fr., Wakefield, Mass.) - Juneau continues to show improvement in her first year of collegiate track and field. She posted a personal best in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.87 seconds. After posting a time of 10.60 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles, just 1/100th of a second off her season best, she led off the 4x400 meter relay to a team season-best time of 4:30.56

JJ Pedersen, Regis (Sr., Milford, Conn.) - Pedersen once again broke a school record during the Branwen Smith-King Invitational at Tufts Saturday. This time, it was the 5000 meter run record he previously set December 7. He finished third Saturday with a time of 15:36.68, 11.42 seconds quicker than the mark he posted at the Emmanuel College Indoor Opener. Saturday's time also placed Pedersen atop the GNAC performance list in the 5000 meter run.
