MEN’S TENNIS: All-Conference Teams Announced; ENC’s Rodriguez Earns Player of the Year Honors

Six Players Named All-Conference Honorees

WINTHROP, Mass. – Eastern Nazarene's Diego Rodriguez was selected as the GNAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year after a fantastic year for the Lions. He highlights the list of All-Conference honorees, which were announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Voting was conducted by the league's four men's tennis head coaches following the conclusion of the regular season.

Rodriguez competed as ENC's No. 1 throughout the year, posting a 4-4 record in singles play, including a 2-0 mark in conference play. In doubles, he competed primarily as part of the Lions' No. 2 duo, posting an overall doubles record of 10-6.

Meanwhile, Colby-Sawyer'sZsombor Homonnay was selected as the league's top first-year competitor and granted the tile of GNAC Rookie of the Year.

Both Rodriguez and Homonnay were also named to the All-Conference team as singles players. Joining them were Ashton Meuse from Colby-Sawyer, Franco Milivinti and Carlos Sanchez from Eastern Nazarene, and Noah Rivera from the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.).

ENC's Rodriguez and Sanchez were also recognized as an All-Conference doubles team as were Colby-Sawyer's Homonnay and his teammate Aidan Jensen.

Colby-Sawyer head coach Barry Schoonmaker took home Coach of the Year honors and Norwich was the winner of the Team Sportsmanship Award.
