GNAC Men's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Report #8

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Xavier Michaud, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (Gr., M)

Graduate midfielder Xavier Michaud had a steady offensive week for the Monks, helping them go 2-0 in GNAC play. Michaud started the week off with five goals and an assist while collecting two ground balls in a triumph over Dean. The graduate student followed up with a four goal and one assist performance, while collecting four ground balls, in another conference victory over Regis. On the week, Michaud collected nine goals and two assists for 11 points and scooping six ground balls.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Michael Catalano, Lasell (Jr., GK)

Junior goalkeeper Michael Catalano had a solid week in the cage for the Lasers in GNAC play. Catalano started the week off by collecting 17 saves while only giving up five goals in a conference victory over Norwich at home, hoisting a 77.3 save percentage. The junior followed up with collecting 16 saves in a home matchup against Dean. On the week, he collected 33 saves with a 66.0 save percentage.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Nate Finn, New England College (Fr., GK)

First-year goalkeeper Nate Finn excelled for the Pilgrims in the cage, going 1-1 in conference play. Finn started the week off strong on the road against Anna Maria by collecting 24 saves while only allowing five goals, hoisting a 82.8 save percentage and picking up the win. Then, the first-year tallied 13 saves in a GNAC home matchup against Rivier. On the week, he collected 37 saves with a 69.8 save percentage.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Hank Gittines, Anna Maria – Scored seven goals and dished two assists for nine points while snagging eight ground balls in a 1-1 week for the Amcats.

Diego Alvarez-Segee, Dean – Tallied nine points off seven goals and two assists in a 1-1 week for the Bulldogs.

Ryan Etzo, Emmanuel – Scored five goals and collected five assists for 10 points in an undefeated week for the Saints. Scooped up five ground balls as well.

Anthony DeRosa, Lasell – Collected 10 points from six goals and four assists in a 1-1 week for the Lasers.

Evan Baden, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) – Tallied eight points on six goals and two assists for the Blue Jays in a win over Elms.
