GNAC Men's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Report #3

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Diego Alvarez-Segee, Dean (Sr., F)

Senior forward Diego Alvarez-Segee led Dean on the attack this past week, giving them a 2-0 week. The senior collected six goals, four assists, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers in a non-conference victory with Curry. Alvarez-Segee followed up with another solid performance against Purchase as he scored five goals and collected four assists in another non-conference victory. In addition, he collected six ground balls and caused five turnovers. On the week, he posted 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) to go with 11 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Devin Hammon, Regis (So., GK)

Sophomore goalkeeper Devin Hammon had a solid week in the cage for Regis. Hammon picked up his first victory of the week against Hilbert, collecting seven saves in the process. The sophomore followed up with another victory over Elms while collecting 16 saves in the cage. In the final game of the week vs Salem State, he picked up another win and earned 23 saves to give Regis a 3-0 start to the season. On the week, Hammon collected 46 saves on a 68.7 save percentage.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jack Jaynes, Regis (Fr., A)

First-year attack Jack Jaynes had a pivotal role in a 3-0 Regis start this week. Against Hilbert, he collected two goals, five assists, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Then, he contributed two goals and three ground balls in a victory over Elms. Jaynes followed up in the Pride’s final game of the week with four goals, two assists, and two ground balls. The first-year finished the week with 15 points (eight goals, seven assists) and collected 10 ground balls.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Donny McInnis, Johnson & Wales – Earned nine points on five goals and four assists in a win over Keystone.

Drew Fleury, Norwich – Had nine goals and four assists for 13 points during a 1-1 week. Collected five ground balls.

Brendan Cook, Regis – Collected 14 points on an undefeated week from 10 goals and four assists. Had eight ground balls as well.

Ryan Paltauf, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) – Recorded 11 assists on the week in a 2-0 week.

Tim Goodfellow, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) – Tallied 13 points with five goals and eight assists in a 2-0 week.
