GNAC Men's Golf Report: Week 5

GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Trevor Flanagan, Saint Joseph's of Maine (Sr., Monmouth, Maine) - The senior had two medalist efforts this past week as the Monks competed in three events. On Thursday, Flanagan tied for sixth at the USM Cup Scramble with teammate Alex Beecher. On Friday afternoon, he earned medalist honors with a +4 73 (38-35) card to help the Monks secure a third-place finish in the NE Invitational at the Cape Arundel Golf Club. At the two-day USM Fall Classic on Sunday-Monday, he again earned medalist honors for the second in four days, carding a +6 150 (76-74.)

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Shamar Wilson, Albertus Magnus (Fr., Montego Bay, Jamaica) - Wilson was outstanding in a busy week for the Falcons, placing tied for 11th at the Brett Williamson Invitational on Wednesday before finishing third at AMC's home match on Thursday. The rookie sensation first carded a one-day 78 (+7) to pace AMC and finish T-11 at the Brett Williamson Invite, helping guide Albertus to a fourth-place finish as a team. He then tallied a 75 (+5) at his home course, the New Haven Country Club, to finish third. Wilson and the rest of the Falcons tallied a program-low team score of 303 to top Eastern Naz and Mitchell.
