GNAC Men's Golf Report: Week 4

( FOR THE WEEK OF SEPT. 19 - 26 )

GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Connor Maguire, Emmanuel (Jr., Old Lyme, Conn) - Maguire turned in a round of 6-over (76), claiming co-medalist honors on Tuesday 9/20 in the Emmanuel Invitational. Maguire is the first player to claim medalist honors for Emmanuel since 2014. A bogey on the difficult third hole and a bogey on the ninth had Maguire turning in 2-over-par. Maguire's back nine contained five pars and four bogeys, to turn in a card of 76. Playing out of the No. 2 spot, the junior's card finished with six bogeys and 12 pars at Franklin Park Golf Course.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Shamar Wilson, Albertus Magnus (Fr., Montego Bay, Jamaica) - Wilson shot a 75 (+5) to take third place overall to help lead the Falcons to a first-place team finish (303) over Mitchell and Eastern Nazarene at New Haven Country Club on Sunday-Monday.


HONOR ROLL

Michael Keefe, Elms - Keefe shot a 77 and 75 to tie for fifth overall at the Castleton Invitational.

Tyler Orton, Norwich - Orton was the highest-finisher for the Cadets at the competitive Castleton Invitational, logging a 164 (+24) total to finish in a tie for 16th. Orton was just four strokes shy of cracking the top ten, but did improve three spots between the first and second days

Drew Mathieu, Saint Joseph's Maine - Mathieu tied for 11th with a 153 (79-74) card in the Bowdoin College Invitational over the weekend.
