STANDISH, Maine – The first Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll has been released and Saint Joseph's College has received votes.

The Monks, 4-0 overall and 1-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play so far this fall, just misses the top 20 and is the first team listed under the 'others receiving votes' section with 98 points. Vassar College is the #20 team with 100 points.

Off to a 4-0 start for the first time 2013 and just the third time in program history, Saint Joseph's garners national recognition after registering noticeable victories over Skidmore College and Wellesley College during the first weekend of the 2018 campaign. The Monks opened the year with a 3-2 triumph over the Thoroughbreds – a team that has advanced to the NCAA Tournament in seven of the last 10 seasons – and, including a 7-0 win over Wellesley, have outscored opponents by a 19-0 margin since the first contest.

Middlebury College sits atop the week one rankings with 1,108 points and is followed by Messiah College (951), The College of New Jersey (884), Babson College (731), and Franklin & Marshall College (673) in the top five.

Seven other New England programs are ranked in the top 20: #8 Tufts University, #10 Bowdoin College, #12 Williams College, #13 MIT, #14 Trinity College, #16 Hamilton College, and #19 Amherst College.

Kean University, which plays at Saint Joseph's on Sunday, is right behind the Monks on the 'others receiving votes' list with 88 points.

Saint Joseph's will host Husson University Wednesday at 6:00 PM.
