Saint Joseph's of Maine Grabs Top GNAC Field Hockey Tournament Seed

WINTHROP, Mass. - Saint Joseph's of Maine has earned the top seed in next week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Field Hockey Tournament, earning a bye into the semifinals in the process. Second-seeded Simmons College also earned a first-round bye into the semis, which will take place on Wednesday, November 2.

This Saturday, October 29, will feature the GNAC's pair of first-round playoff contests, with third-seeded Johnson & Wales University hosting sixth-seeded Anna Maria College at 4:00 PM and fifth-seeded Mount Ida traveling to fourth-seeded Lasell College for a 12:00 PM noon contest. The Anna Maria/JWU winner will travel to Simmons in the semis, with Saint Joseph's hosting the Mount Ida/Lasell victor.

The 2016 GNAC title game is scheduled for Saturday, November 5 with an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament on the line.

Game 1: #5 Mount Ida at #4 Lasell - 12:00 PM
Game 2: #6 Anna Maria at #3 Johnson & Wales - 4:00 PM

Wednesday, November 2 - Semifinals
Game 3: Game 1 winner at #1 Saint Joseph's of Maine - TBA
Game 4: Game 2 winner at #2 Simmons - 7:00 PM

Saturday, November 5 - Final
