GNAC Baseball Report: Week 4

( FOR THE WEEK MARCH 20 - 26 )

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Matthew Bischof, Lasell (Graduate Student, 1B - Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) - Bischof collected was 7-for-13 (.538) with a 1.446 OPS as part of a 3-0 week week, registering five runs scored, a double, his first home run of the season, and five RBI. The round-tripper was the 13th of his career, adding on to his school record. 
 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Anthony Pingeton, Anna Maria (Jr., RHP - Charlton, Mass.) - Pingeton was spotless with a 0.00 ERA last week, as he allowed just five hits and zero earned runs over 8.0 innings of work, going 1-0 with a save while striking out 17 (19.1 K/9) and walking four. After tossing one inning last Wednesday against Curry, he struck out all six he faced over 2.0 innings against GNAC rival JWU on the road on Friday to nail down the save in a 4-2 victory as part of a huge doubleheader sweep. He then struck out 10 in just 5.0 innings on Sunday in a 5-2 win over NEC to earn the victory on the bump.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Conor Francesconi, Anna Maria (Fr., LHP - Beverly, Mass.) - The first-year lefthander saved both of the games he appeared in last week, striking out four in 4.0 innings without allowing a run or a walk, and surrendering just one single. 
 

WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Jeremy Rosenberg, Anna Maria (So., 1B) - Rosemberg posted a 1.167 OPS in a 4-1 week with two runs, two doubles and two RBI while hitting .533 (8-15) for the AMCATS. The first baseman slugger had three multi-hit games, including a three-hit performance in a 6-4 win over Curry last Wednesday. 
 
Zach Rogers, Colby-Sawyer (Jr, P / 3B - Mashpee, Mass.) - Rogers had a solid performance in Colby-Sawyer's doubleheader against Elms] on Sunday. He pitched seven straight innings in game one only allowing three earned runs, three walks, and striking out nine Blazers. In game two, Rogers led the Chargers offense after recording a triple and earning a run. 
 
Matthew Fletcher, Lasell (Sophomore, P - Wethersfield, Conn.) - Fletcher struck out seven in a six-inning outing while allowing just two earned runs (3.00 ERA) in a 12-2 victory over Dean on Sunday afternoon.
