GNAC Baseball Report: Week 1

( FOR THE OPENING WEEKS OF FEB. 24 - MARCH 5 )

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Austin Roy, Elms (Senior, INF/P - Cromwell, Conn.) - Roy hit .714 (5-7) with a 1.571 OPS, three runs scored, a double and two RBI in a doubleheader sweep against Martin Luther on Saturday. 
 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Nick Choate, Anna Maria (So., RHP - Grafton, Mass.) - Against Carthage on Saturday, the reigning GNAC Pitcher and Rookie of the Year struck out eight (four walks) while allowing one earned on four hits across 5.0 innings (1.80 ERA).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Nolan Mederos, Rivier (Fr., P - Nashua, N.H.) - In his first-ever career start, Mederos kept a tough Bridgewater State lineup to just four hits over four innings. He struck out five and walked two in the Raiders' opener on Sunday.
