JWU to open up against Wheaton
at SUNY Brockport Friday 10AM
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Having earned the Great Northeast Athletic Conference automatic qualifier as the GNAC champion for the second straight spring, the Johnson & Wales University (RI) learned on Monday where it would be headed for the 2022 NCAA Division III Regional,.
Set to begin this Friday, May 20, the Wildcats will be traveling to Brockport, N.Y. to take part in a regional bracket with SUNY Brockport, Wheaton (Mass.) and Baldwin Wallace.
At the double-elimination regional, JWU will take on Wheaton on Friday at 10 AM, while host SUNY Brockport and Baldwin Wallace will face off at 1:30 PM. On Saturday, Day Two of the regional will feature three contests (approx 8:30 AM, 12 PM, 3:30 PM), where two teams will be eliminated by the end of the day at Clark V. Whited Complex.
On Sunday, Day Three will begin at 11 AM where a Brockport regional champion will be crowned. The regional champion will then move onto the Super Regionals at a non-predetermined site for a best-of-three series on May 27-28. The Division III World Series will take place June 3 - 7/8 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
