GNAC Baseball Report: Week 3

FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 14 - 21

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Cooper O'Brien, Colby-Sawyer (Jr, OF - Vergennes, Vt.) - O'Brien had a remarkable week for Colby-Sawyer over seven games last week. O'Brien finished the week 9-for-22 (.409) with two home runs, two doubles, nine RBI and five runs scored. O'Brien finished with a .435 OBP and a .773 slugging for a 1.208 OPS.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Bob Ross, Anna Maria (Jr., RHP - Rochester, Mass.) - Ross continued to paint the corners for the AMCATS this week, with a 1.50 ERA and seven strikeouts (one walk) over 6.0 innings. After 5.0 innings of one-run ball in a 9-3 win over Fitchburg State on Wednesday, the junior entered the game in relief againt NEC on Sunday, striking out the side en route to his first career win.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jack Mullen, Colby-Sawyer (Fr, P - Norfolk, Mass.) - Mullen continues to shine as the second starter for Colby-Sawyer with another win on the mound. Mullen threw 6.0 innings only allowing one earned run on six hits, while striking out seven (one walk) in a 10-5 victory over UMaine Presque Isle.

GNAC WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
  
Kosta Drosidis, Anna Maria (Sr., INF - Holden, Mass.) - The reigning GNAC Player of the Year hit .450 (9-20) for the AMCATS this past week to lead Anna Maria to a 4-1 record. The senior posted two extra-base hits, four runs and four RBI, while tying the school record for career home runs with 14. He posted a .450 OBP and .650 slugging for a 1.100 OPS. 
   
EJ Leone, Johnson and Wales (RI) (So., OF/P - Peabody, Mass.) - Over four games last week, Leone batted .385 while driving in seven runs for the Wildcats and scoring two himself. Leone had two doubles and five hits, with one walk. Against Cortland on Saturday, Leone totaled four RBIs with two his and one run in three at bats. 
 
CJ Mills, Lasell (Sophomore, Infielder/Pitcher - Waltham, Mass.) - Mills was 7-for-17 with four RBI in a six-game week for the Lasers. He also started a game on the mound and appeared as a reliever in another, posting a 3.60 ERA with eight strikeouts 5.0 innings pitched.
