PLAYER OF THE WEEK Kosta Drosidis, Anna Maria (Jr., INF - Holden, Mass.) - This past week saw the AMCATS take two from Johnson & Wales to clinch the #1 seed going into the GNAC Tournament. Kosta was a huge part of the 2-0 week after going 7-for-9 (.778) with seven runs, five RBI, three doubles and a triple in the doubleheader sweep. He was one bad hop away from going 6-for-6 in a 14-13 victory in Game One. |

PITCHER OF THE WEEK Michael Pepe, Albertus Magnus (Jr., P - Cheshire, Conn.) - Pepe was outstanding in his two appearances, allowing zero earned runs over 5.2 innings pitched. The junior tallied three strikeouts, while allowing just three hits. In his first appearance, Pepe got two outs with a strikeout in relief against No. 21 nationally-ranked Eastern Conn. St. on Wednesday. He followed that up with 5.0 innings of stellar pitching against Johnson & Wales on Saturday in his first career start. He didn't allow a hit until the fifth on his way to the crucial league victory. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Tyler Baldwin, Albertus Magnus (Fr., IF - Cromwell, Conn.) - Baldwin hit .400 last week with a 2-for-5 mark from the plate with one run and one stolen base. He also made two appearances on the pitching mound for Albertus to post a 2.70 ERA over 3.1 innings with two strikeouts. Baldwin's hitting week was highlighted by a 2-for-3 showing with a run scored against Johnson & Wales on Saturday. In the second game of that Saturday doubleheader, he also tossed 2.0 innings in relief during the Falcons' 7-3 victory over the Wildcats on the road. |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Armani Henderson, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Sr., OF - Johnston, RI) - Henderson was welcomed ack to the diamond this past week with 4-for-6 outing against Anna Maria. The senior hit his first homerun of the year, collected a double and knocked in three runs. The next day, he stole three bases on the afternoon and had a hit in each of the two games against Albertus to close out the regular season.
Jake Hernandez, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Sr., P/IF - Missouri City, Texas) - Hernandez saw six innings of relief this week and allowed just one earned run. He picked up his first win out of the pen this season with three and a third innings pitched in a 3-2 victory over Albertus Magnus on Saturday. He struck out three in the game, walking one and scattering four hits.
